Remember that the problem is not just with Niger Delta. There are many other concerns like religious violence. In the past decade, we have witnessed many lives wasted to religious violence. President Yar'Adua administration has been enjoying relative peace than his predecessors. The November 2008 violence in Plateau State, to say the least, challenged his administration's policy on religious tolerance. On May 1, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom named Nigeria as a country of concern with a growing record in religious violence. A lot of Nigerians took offence with the study. I really feel that we are not supposed to be on that list. But we are because we have not done enough on religious tolerance. Religious violence is a free for all fight in Nigeria.
