Virginia: Al-Jazeera Reporter Attacks U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF)

An Al-Jazeera TV reporter speaking outside the Islamic Saudi Academy in Northern Virginia verbally attacked USCIRF stating (as translated by MEMRI): “What should be said about a commission that some say is unconstitutional, and contradicts the very meaning of its name?  This commission calls upon all countries of the world to respect freedom of religion there, while the commission itself violates this freedom in its own land.”

In the past, the USCIRF has challenged the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) in Virginia regarding  textbooks used at ISA.  In the Fall of 2007, the USCIRF “asked the U.S. Department of State to secure the release of all Arabic-language textbooks used at a Saudi government school in Northern Virginia, the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA).”
