This occurred hours after the chairman of a US government commission challenged the Yudhoyono administration over the rise of religious violence which resulted in the killing of three Ahmadi Muslims on Sunday.

US Commission on International Religious Freedom chairman Leonard Leo said: "Indonesia is a tolerant country that should be more intolerant of extremist groups. It's time the Indonesian government brings them to account for the violence and hatred they spread."
