Gong Hua was imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
In February 2018, authorities arrested Gong and several others for their Falun Gong activities.
In January 2019, the Wulian County Court sentenced Gong to three years in prison. She was also fined 8,000 yuan.
In March 2019, the Rizhao City Intermediate Court rejected Gong's appeal.
Gong's sentence should have ended in February 2021.
