Li Wanbi is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On May 17, 2017, authorities in Wanzhou District of Chongqing City detained Li reportedly in relation to her religious leadership roles.
On December 4, 2017, the Wanzhou District People’s Court of Chongqing sentenced Li to seven years and six months in prison and fined her 10,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
Li was sent to Chongqing Women’s Prison to serve her sentence.
