Lin Weiping is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On December 25, 2017, officers from the Yanling County Public Security Bureau in Xuchang city, Henan province, detained Lin reportedly in relation to her possession of church-related religious materials and evangelizing activities.
On September 20, 2018, the Yanling County People’s Court sentenced Lin to seven years in prison and fined her 5,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
On October 29, 2018, the Intermediate People’s Court in Xuchang rejected Lin's appeal.
Lin was taken to Zhengzhou Women’s Prison in Henan to serve her sentence.
