Wu Lin is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On July 21, 2017, police from Lishui, Zhejiang province, arrested Wu reportedly in relation to her religious leadership role, organizing of worship gatherings, and printing religious materials.
On March 1, 2018, the Liandu District People’s Court in Lishui municipality, Zhejiang, sentenced Wu to eight years in prison and fined her 25,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
