Mirzoburhan Salmanzoda is detained for his independent religious activities. 

On April 4, 2024, during Ramadan, authorities in Sughd region arrested Salmanzoda, a congregant of Khoja Muhammad Balodurkun mosque in the village of Rumon, for attending services at the same time as a group of minors attended the mosque. Salmanzoda was reportedly charged with extremism.
