On April 2, 2018, public security officials in Biru (Driru) county, Naqu (Nagchu) prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) detained 30 Tibetans from the Markor, Wathang, and Gochu villages in Xiaqu (Shagchu) township, Biru, including Khyenrab, a government official, reportedly for opposing a mining project on Sebtra Zagyen, a religiously significant mountain.
