Buheliqiemu Abula is detained for her ethnoreligious identity.
On March 31, 2022, Saudi Arabian authorities detained Abula and her teenage daughter, who are Uyghurs, near Mecca and reportedly said that they would be deported to China.
Abula’s ex-husband was also arrested in Saudi Arabia in November 2020 and is facing deportation to China.
