On an unspecified date, the Donghai People’s Court sentenced Liu to five years and six months in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
Liu was sent to Hongzehu Prison, Jiangsu, to serve his sentence.
