On March 13, 2023, the Kirovsky District Court of Omsk sentenced Moskvitin, the the pastor of the New Creation Apostolic Church, to one year and six months in prison for "creating a religious or public association whose activities involve violence against citizens or other harm to their health, as well as leadership of such an association" (Art. 239.1 RCC). Authorities accused Moskvitin of causing psychological harm to his parishioners by using psychological techniques to brainwash parishioners. Moskvitin was taken into custody following the verdict. 

On August 15, 2023, the Omsk Regional Court reduced Moskvitin's sentence to one year and six months' suspended imprisonment. Moskvitin was released following the verdict.
