In April 2020, authorities arrested Shang in relation to her Falun Gong activity.

In November 2020, the Huashan District Court sentenced Shang to three years and six months in prison. She was also fined 20,000 yuan.

On an unspecified date, the Ma’anshan City Intermediate Court reportedly rejected Shang's appeal.

In February 2021, Shang was reportedly transferred to Anhui Women’s Prison.

In July 2019, authorities arrested Zeng after accusing her of using her cell phone to spread information about Falun Gong. Zeng reportedly began suffering from from high blood pressure, a heart condition, and impaired vision and hearing while detained.

In July 2021, Zeng was reportedly sentenced to five years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.

Patras Masih

Patras Masih was detained for blasphemy.

On February 19, 2018, authorities arrested Masih after he was accused of posting a perceived-blasphemous image on Facebook a few days before.  Following the accusation, a mob gathered outside of Masih's neighborhood and threatened to burn it down, despite him not being there.  Police reportedly arrested several of Masih's family members before arresting him.  He was charged with "insulting the Prophet Muhammad" (Sec. 295-C PPC). 

There are reports that authorities tortured Masih and his cousin, Sajid Masih, into confessing.

On August 24, 2022, it was reported that the Supreme Court had granted Masih bail.

On August 27, 2022, Masih was reportedly released on bail.
