He Wen was under house arrest for expressing views about her religion.

In July 2018, He was arrested after shouting religious views while at Tiananmen Square. Police reportedly searched her home and seized Falun Gong-related materials. She reportedly went on hunger strike while at the Dongcheng District Detention Center and was released on bail almost a week later.  

In November 2019, He was taken back into custody reportedly after the Dongcheng District Court sentenced her to three years and six months in prison and fined her 7,000 yuan. Prosecutors reportedly charged her with "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).

He's health deteriorated rapidly after starting another hunger strike while in prison. There are reports she was mistreated while in prison.

In June 2020, He was reportedly released from prison and placed under house arrest.

He's sentence should have ended.

Zhou Yuzhen

Zhou Yuzhen was imprisoned for her religious activity. 

In April 2019, authorities arrested Zhou in Jinzhou city after being accusing her of distributing Falun Gong materials. 

In July 2019, Zhou was reportedly sentenced to four years in prison.

In November 2020, it was reported that Zhou had been tortured in prison and that she had loss a significant amount of weight after undergoing a hunger strike.

Zhou's sentence should have ended in April 2023.

Zhou has previously spent five and a half years in prison in relation to her practice of Falun Gong.
