On February 17, 2017, officers from the Yangcheng Public Security Bureau of Jincheng detained Zhao reportedly in relation to his religious leadership role and organizing church members to gather, evangelize, film church videos, and other religious activities.

On June 13, 2018, the Lingchuan People’s Court sentenced Zhao to six years in prison and fined him 10,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).

On August 8, 2018, the Jincheng Intermediate People’s Court rejected Zhao's appeal.

On August 12, 2014, officers from the Sima Town Police Station of Jinxiang county, Jining city, Shandong province, arrested Meng reportedly in relation to his religious belief and his hosting of worship gatherings at his home. The month before, police reportedly searched his home and found religious materials.

On April 20, 2015, the Jinxiang People’s Court sentenced Meng to seven years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).

On June 2, 2015, the Jining Intermediate People’s Court of Shandong rejected Meng's appeal.

Meng's sentence should have ended in August 2021.

On September 16, 2014, the Shapingba District People’s Court sentenced Li to seven years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).

Li was taken to Chongqing Women’s Prison to serve her sentence.
