Malik al-Dowaish

Malik al-Dowaish is imprisoned for his religious freedom advocacy. 

In July 2022, Saudi authorities arrested Malik al-Dowaish for peacefully advocating for his father, Sulaiman al-Dowaish, a religious scholar who was forcibly disappeared in 2016.

In summer 2023, Saudi judicial authorities sentenced al-Dowaish to 27 years' imprisonment. In early 2025, his sentence was reduced to 15 years' imprisonment.
