Li Huaxian is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On August 23, 2014, authorities in Jinxiang county arrested Li reportedly while she was preaching in Mengdian village, Huji town, Jinxiang county, Shandong province. Police reportedly seized religious materials from her home.
On December 12, 2014, the Jinxiang People’s Court in Shandong sentenced Li to eight years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
Li was sent to Shandong Women’s Prison to serve her sentence.
Li's sentence should have ended in August 2022.
