On May 12, 2015, police from Jiange County Public Security Bureau National Security Brigade in Guangyuan arrested Guan again.
On July 28, 2016, Jiange County People’s Court sentenced Guan to eight years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
