Teimur Abdullayev is imprisoned for his alleged religious activity.
On October 12, 2016, Russian security forces arrested Abdullayev and several others after raiding their homes in Crimea and confiscating religious literature and electronics. Abdullayev was accused of being a member of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization.
On June 18, 2019, the North Caucasian District Military Court sentenced Abdullayev to 17 years in prison for "organizing the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist" (Art. 205.5-1 RCC).
On December 24, 2019, the Supreme Court reduced Abdullayev's sentence by six months, making it 16 years and six months in prison.
In March 2020, Abdullayev was transferred to the prison colony in Salavat, Bashkortostan, where he has had to endure inhumane living conditions. He was reportedly placed in solitary confinement and has been subjected to having his bed raised early in the morning so that he is unable to properly sleep.
In November 2020, Abdullayev reportedly contracted COVID-19.
In December 2022, Abdullayev was sent to a prison hospital after reportedly being exposed to tuberculosis. After additional testing and examination, he was determined not to have tuberculosis.
Abdullayev is married with five children.

On February 9, 2017, authorities arrested Abdrakhimov for allegedly being a member of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization. Abdrakhimov and his colleagues are said to have held meetings, discussed the organization's ideology, and sought to attract new supporters, all of which are ordinary religious activities.
On February 21, 2019, the Volga District Military Court sentenced Abdrakhimov to 15 years in prison for “participating in the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist” (Art. 205.5-2 RCC).
Abdrakhimov is married with one child.
