Denis Rosabal

Denis Rosabal was detained for his religious belief and activity.  

On August 6, 2021, authorities arrested Rosabal, a mechanic and the pianist and music director for the Assemblies of God Church in Holguín, following a raid on his home.  According to reports, police demanded that Rosabal produce documents proving his ownership of the iron tools used at his auto repair shop.  After being unable to produce such documentation, he was taken into custody. Family and associates believe Rosabal is being targeted because of his Christian faith.

In June 2024, sources reported that that Rosabal had been released from prison on an unknown date.

Tuniyaz Memet is detained for his religious activity and ethnoreligious identity.

In 2017, authorities detained Memet in Tomosteng town, Yarkand (Shache) county, Kashgar prefecture, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), alongside dozens of others Uyghurs, reportedly in relation to their giving or listening to religious sermons unauthorized by authorities. Memet's detention came amid mass detentions of largely Muslim ethnic minorities in XUAR.
