On May 19, 2015, authorities arrested Ibatullin after accusing him of being a member of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization. Prosecutors accused him of holding Hizb ut-Tahrir meetings, distributing organizational literature, trying to attract new members, and collecting funds to finance the organization.
On April 5, 2017, the Volga District Military Court sentenced Ibatullin to 17 years in prison for "financing terrorist activities" (Art. 205.1-1 RCC) and "organizing the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist" (Art. 205.5-1 RCC).
Ibatullin is married with one child.

On September 30, 2015, authorities arrested Girfanov after accusing him of being a member of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization. He and his colleagues allegedly attended meetings for the organization, studied the its literature, and sought to attract new supporters. Authorities raided Girfanov's home and reportedly confiscated organizational literature.
On August 3, 2016, the Moscow District Military Court sentenced Girfanov to eight years in prison for “participating in the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist” (Art. 205.5-2 RCC).
On December 20, 2016, Girfanov's verdict was upheld.
On September 29, 2023, Girfanov was released from prison after completing his sentence.
Girfanov is married with three children.

On April 26, 2019, the Volga District Military Court sentenced Gimazetdinov to 18 years in prison and one year of restricted freedom for "organizing the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist" (Art. 205.5-1 RCC).
On September 24, 2019, the Supreme Court of Russia reduced Gimazetdinov's sentence by three months to 17 years and nine months in prison.
Gimazetdinov has two children.
