In October 2019, the Gaoxin District Court sentenced Wang to four years in prison and fined her 10,000 yuan. It is reported that authorities obstructed Wang's legal defense.
In December 2019, Wang's appeal was rejected.

He Wen was under house arrest for expressing views about her religion.
In July 2018, He was arrested after shouting religious views while at Tiananmen Square. Police reportedly searched her home and seized Falun Gong-related materials. She reportedly went on hunger strike while at the Dongcheng District Detention Center and was released on bail almost a week later.
In November 2019, He was taken back into custody reportedly after the Dongcheng District Court sentenced her to three years and six months in prison and fined her 7,000 yuan. Prosecutors reportedly charged her with "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
He's health deteriorated rapidly after starting another hunger strike while in prison. There are reports she was mistreated while in prison.
In June 2020, He was reportedly released from prison and placed under house arrest.
He's sentence should have ended.
