On April 17, 2019, public security officers from the Qiaocheng District Public Security Bureau in Bozhou Municipality, Anhui Province, arrested Jiang in relation to her belief and/or practice of Falun Gong.
On December 5, 2019, the Qiaocheng District People's Court sentenced Jiang to four years and six months in prison and fined her 30,000 yuan.
At an unspecified date, Jiang's appeal was reportedly rejected.
Jiang's sentence should have ended in October 2023.
