Nikolai Ulitin

Nikolai Ulitin is imprisoned for his religious activity.

In August 2022, authorities detained Ulitin, pastor of the Pentecostal Christ the Savior Church, following searches on suspected members of the Pentecostal New Generation Church in Moscow, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Sochi, and Krasnodar. Ulitin was accused of organizing a conference and promoting the activities of New Generation Church, which authorities designated as "undesirable." Ulitin was charged with "organizing the activities of a foreign or international non-governmental organization in respect of which a decision has been made to recognize its activities as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation" (Art. 284.1-3 RCC).

On July 18, 2023, the Ramensky City Court of the Moscow Region reportedly sentenced Ulitin to three years and six months in prison.

On October 12, 2023, the Moscow Regional Court upheld Ulitin's sentence.

Stanislav Moskvitin was imprisoned for his religious leadership role.

On March 13, 2023, the Kirovsky District Court of Omsk sentenced Moskvitin, the the pastor of the New Creation Apostolic Church, to one year and six months in prison for "creating a religious or public association whose activities involve violence against citizens or other harm to their health, as well as leadership of such an association" (Art. 239.1 RCC). Authorities accused Moskvitin of causing psychological harm to his parishioners by using psychological techniques to brainwash parishioners. Moskvitin was taken into custody following the verdict. 

On August 15, 2023, the Omsk Regional Court reduced Moskvitin's sentence to one year and six months' suspended imprisonment. Moskvitin was released following the verdict.

Ruslan Fomin

Ruslan Fomin is imprisoned for his religious activity. 

On November 18, 2019, Federal Security Service (FSB) officers in Tyumen arrested ten Muslims, including Fomin, for their alleged involvement in the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization. Authorities accused them of holding or participating in HT meetings, including holiday parties, tea parties, and conversations after Friday prayers, where attendees discussed religion and politics, studied HT materials, promoted HT ideas, and sought to gain new members.

On August 4, 2022, the Central District Military Court sentenced Fomin to 12 years in prison for “participating in the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist” (Art. 205.5-2 RCC).
