On April 16, 2018, police in Nanchang County, Nanchang Municipality, Jiangxi Province, detained Chen and five other Falun Gong adherents as they were studying Falun Gong at one of their homes.
In October 2019, the Xihu District People’s Court in Nanchang sentenced Chen to eight years in prison.
Chen is reportedly being held at Jiangxi Province Women’s Prison.
There is reporting that Chen has previously been imprisoned and tortured for her Falun Gong activities.
