Aleksey Ukhov was imprisoned for his religious belief and activity.

On October 22, 2020, authorities in Sovetskaya Gavan detained Ukhov after searching his home. Investigators accused Ukhov of reading prayers and studying and quoting the Bible. 

On July 9, 2021, Ukhov was released on bail.

On March 27, 2023, the Sovetskaya Gavan City Court of the Khabarovsk Territory sentenced Ukhov to six years and six months in prison for “organizing the activities of a public or religious association or other organization in respect of which a court has adopted a final decision to liquidate or ban activities in connection with extremist activities” (Art. 282.2-1 RCC). He was taken into custody following the verdict.

On July 18, 2023, the Khabarovsk Regional Court replaced Ukhov's prison sentence with six years and six months of suspended imprisonment. Ukhov was released following the verdict.
