On October 12, 2022, authorities in Yaroslavsky, Primorsky Territory, arrested Li. The week before, authorities searched the homes of suspected Jehovah's Witnesses, detaining two people. Li is reportedly being investigated for “recruiting…a person in the activities of an extremist organization” (Art. 282.2-1.1 RCC).
