Dmitriy Golik is imprisoned for his religious belief and activity. 

On July 20, 2018, authorities searched Golik's home in Blagoveshchensk. Authorities placed him on recognizance after charging him with “participating in the activities of a public or religious association, or any other organization in respect of which a court has adopted a final decision to liquidate or ban activities in connection with extremist activities” (Art. 282.2-2 RCC).

On June 30, 2021, the Blagoveshchensk City Court of the Amur Region sentenced Golik to seven years in prison. Golik was subsequently taken into state custody following the trial.

On September 2, 2021, Golik's sentence was reduced to six years and two months in prison and one year and two months of restricted freedom.  Golik's sentence was reportedly based on the charge of “organizing the activities of a public or religious association or other organization in respect of which a court has adopted a final decision to liquidate or ban activities in connection with extremist activities” (Art. 282.2-1 RCC).

Golik is serving his sentence at Penal Colony No 8 in the Amur region.
