On December 18, 2022, security officials in Rikaze (Shigatse) municipality, Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), detained three Tibetans, including Dradul, after they returned from a pilgrimage to the Sekhar Guthog monastery. They were also accused of intending to travel to India.
