Elvin Muradov was imprisoned for his religious activity and association.
On March 13, 2020, Azerbaijani police detained Muradov, a member of the unregistered Muslim Unity Movement (MUM) organization, who wrote poems and songs about imprisoned MUM leader Taleh Bagirzade. Authorities charged Muradov with "illegally purchasing, transferring, selling, storing, transporting, and carrying firearms, accessories, supplies, and explosives" (Art. 228.1 ACC).
On September 25, 2020, the Narimanov District Court sentenced Muradov to two years and three months' imprisonment.
In 2022, he was released from prison.
