Guo Yu'e is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On January 10, 2018, officers from the Public Security Bureau in the Mosuowan Reclamation Area detained Guo reportedly in relation to her religious beliefs and preaching.
On April 1, 2019, the Mosuowan Reclamation Area People’s Court in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps sentenced Guo to six years in prison and fined her 8,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
