In March 2018, officers from the Public Security Bureau in the Mosuowan Reclamation Area detained Hu reportedly in relation to her religious beliefs, religious leadership role, and safekeeping of the church's religious literature.

On June 25, 2019, the Mosuowan Reclamation Area People’s Court in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps sentenced Hu to six years in prison and fined her 8,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
