Kpuih Khuong is imprisoned for his religious activity.
In 2014, authorities arrested Khuong, a leader in the Degar Protestant Church, after accusing him of organizing meetings in support of Degar Protestantism, a religious movement not approved by the government, and separatist activities. Authorities also alleged that Khuong sent information about political prisoners to overseas contacts.
On an unspecified date, Khuong was sentenced to 11 years in prison and three to five years' probation for "undermining national unity policy" (Art. 87/1999 VCC).
