Li Yanchun is imprisoned for his religious activity.
On November 25, 2018, authorities from Lulong county, Qinhuangdao municipality, Hebei province, detained Li and his wife, Pei Yuxian, for distributing Falun Gong calendars in Lulong. Authorities later raided their home, seizing their computer and other printed materials. Li was eventually released on bail due to his poor health.
On August 27, 2019, the Changli County People's Court in Qinhuangdao sentenced Li was to seven years and six months in prison and fined him 20,000 yuan.
