Nadezhda Ukhova is imprisoned for her religious activity.
In October 2023, authorities detained Ukhova, a parishioner of the banned Vozrozhenie ("Revival") Church, for her involvement with the church, including recruitment of new members and charitable giving.
In December 2024, a Moscow court sentenced Ukhova to 3 years' imprisonment and banned her from engaging in religious activity for 7 years for "organizing the activities of an organization designated as undesirable" (Art. 284.1 RCC). Authorities confined her in Federal Penitentiary Institution IK-3 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Ivanovo Region.
