Nikolai Ulitin is imprisoned for his religious activity.
In August 2022, authorities detained Ulitin, pastor of the Pentecostal Christ the Savior Church, following searches on suspected members of the Pentecostal New Generation Church in Moscow, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Sochi, and Krasnodar. Ulitin was accused of organizing a conference and promoting the activities of New Generation Church, which authorities designated as "undesirable." Ulitin was charged with "organizing the activities of a foreign or international non-governmental organization in respect of which a decision has been made to recognize its activities as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation" (Art. 284.1-3 RCC).
On July 18, 2023, the Ramensky City Court of the Moscow Region reportedly sentenced Ulitin to three years and six months in prison.
On October 12, 2023, the Moscow Regional Court upheld Ulitin's sentence.
