Victim NP-0085 is detained for his religious activity and association. 

In 2014, Ministry of State Security officials detained NP-0085 after he was refouled from China, where he had attended a Christian church and associated with a pastor. Authorities confined him in Ryanggang Provincial MSS Holding Center, where individuals are strip-searched, sexually humiliated, and denied food and medical care. 

Authorities tortured NP-0085 during interrogation, which was witnessed by another detainee.
