In January or February 2026, police authorities detained Ye, an affiliate of Early Rain Covenant Church in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Authorities charged him with “Inciting subversion of state power” (Article 105(2), PRC Criminal Law) and confined him in Deyang Detention Center. Soon after, authorities released Ye from detention and placed him under “Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location” (RSDL).
