On August 11, 2022, authorities in Erdaojiang district, Tonghua municipality, Jilin province, detained four individuals, including Yue, while they were studying Falun Gong at one of their homes.

In June/July 2023, the Liuhe County People’s Court sentenced Yue to two years in prison.
