Tsultrim Gonpo is imprisoned for activities in support of religious sites.
On April 2, 2018, public security officials in Biru (Driru) county, Naqu (Nagchu) prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) detained 30 Tibetans from the Markor, Wathang, and Gochu villages in Xiaqu (Shagchu) township, Biru, including Gonpo, a monk, reportedly for opposing a mining project on Sebtra Zagyen, a religiously significant mountain.
In July 2023, a UN Special Rapporteur Communication sent to Chinese authorities indicated that Gonpo had reportedly been found guilty of "engaging in separatist activity." The letter said the length of the sentence and the exact charges were not known.

Tsultrim Kalsang was imprisoned for his religious belief and activity.
On September 1, 2012, authorities raided Zilkar Monastery, near Zhaduo (Dzatoe) township, Chenduo (Tridu) county, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai province, and detained four monks, including Kalsang. The three of the monks were reportedly suspected of providing information about a double self-immolation in Zhaduo to foreign media outlets. One monk is believed to have been in possession of images of the Dalai Lama.
On July 12, 2013, the Xining Intermediate People’s Court sentenced Kalsang to 10 years in prison on unspecified charges.
Kalsang's health has deteriorated while imprisoned, and he has reportedly been denied adequate medical care. He suffers from liver disease.
Kalsang's sentence should have ended.

In December 2013, public security officials in Lhasa city, the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) detained Nyandrag, a monk from Rabten Monastery, while he was in Lhasa on pilgrimage. His detention possibly in connection with a series of protests in Biru, where his monastery is located.
In July 2014, Nyandrag was reportedly sentenced to nine years in prison on unspecified charges.
Nyandrag has reportedly been denied adequate medical care and tortured while imprisoned.
Nyandrag's sentence should have ended in December 2022.
