On July 16, 2014, police in Ningguo city, Anhui province, detained Jiang reportedly in relation to her organizing of religious gatherings and preaching.
On an unspecified date, the Ningguo People’s Court sentenced sentenced Jiang to eight years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
On December 8, 2016, the Xuancheng Intermediate People’s Court rejected Jiang's appeal.
